Fun Things to do in Glasgow, Scotland!
With so many amazing museums, restaurants, bars, exhibits, and shops, it can be tricky to decide how to best spend your time in Glasgow. Below are a few of my favorite Glasgow adventures that you can’t miss out on when exploring the city.

While I drank A LOT of whisky while travelling through Scotland, I was pleasantly surprised by the wonderful local brews throughout the country. After visiting the Glasgow Cathedral and Necropolis, my partner and I took a short walk to Drygate Brewing Co. Drygate is considered to be an “Experiential” microbrewery, as they offer rotating beers, a beer hall, and a restaurant that will not disappoint. Whether you’re wanting a brewery tour, flight of cervezas, or crispy plate of fish and chips, this is a must-do brewery. If they have it on tap, definitely try the Take Me To The River Lychee and Mint Gose or the Decemberries Winter Berry Stout!
The Riverside Museum
Spending the afternoon exploring The Riverside Museum was one of my very favorite Glasgow experiences. I truly felt like a kid when touring through the vintage cars, locomotives, and interactive shops & subway stations. Once you’ve visited the Stormtrooper on display, head outside to the River Clyde and tour through the steel-hulled three-masted cargo ship. There is soooo much to see and play with here and I promise that you’ll have true genuine fun when here.
Glasgow Botanic Gardens
Home to a literal glasshouse PALACE, Glasgow Botanical Gardens is the most beautiful and regal garden that I’ve yet to visit. Nothing would be more beautiful and relaxing than spending your day amongst lush greenery and airy glasshouses. The gardens range from showcasing tropical flora, to native arid lands plants. Hang out in lush gardens, grab a cup of tea, and then run on over to the Kelvingrove Museum.
Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum
While an obvious choice, Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum offers you the ability to zen out and relax. Even being a major tourist attraction, the museum is so large that you can get lost and get a moment of quiet. Offering a dinosaur exhibit and Salvador Dali’s Christ of St. John of the Cross, there is a wide variety of exhibits to explore. The afternoon that my partner and I spent at the Kelvingrove Museum, we ended up staying until closing time. After a long day of walking through the gardens and museum, all we craved was a big ole’ glass of beer and a burger. Lucky for us and for you, if you’re craving a quick break, run across the street to BrewDog, the casual craft beer hall across the street.

Clydeside Distillery

What better way to spend your day, than alongside the river with a glass of Glasgow whisky. Located in The Old Pump House on Queen's Dock, Clydeside Distillery used to control the exportation of Scotland’s whisky. Nowadays, they make out-of-this-world single malt whiskey. If you want more than a simple tasting, the distillery offers a fun and informative tour of their facility. You can book your tour here!
The Hidden Lane Tearoom

You should know that I was born a little old lady. I love building puzzles, taking afternoon naps, and gardening. With all of that in mind, there is absolutely nothing that I love more than afternoon tea. Please, for the love of the lord, take tea at The Hidden Lane Tearoom when you’re needing a quick perk me up. With shabby chic interior decor and vintage china, it’ll be very easy to sink into your cozy afternoon. A few treats to expect are clotted cream and berries, scones, victoria sponge, and sticky toffee cake.
